Physical Causes of Erectile Dysfunction

What is Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) the inability to get or maintain an erection strong enough to engage in sex. It is sometimes called impotence, although the term is now rarely used.

ED is uncommon. Many men go through periods of depression. The prevalence of ED, however, can be a sign of health problems that need treatment. It can also be a sign of emotional or relationship problems that may need professional attention.

What causes the Erect Penis

ED can occur due to problems at any stage of the intercourse process. The erect penis is the result of the blood flow to your cock. Blood flow is often stimulated by sexual thoughts or direct contact with your penis. As the chambers are filled with blood, the penis grows stronger.

Penis gets erect when the contraction of the muscles and blood collected can flow through the penile arteries.

Erectile dysfunction

There are many causes for ED, and they can include both emotional and physical conditions. Common causes include:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Obesity
  • Kidney disease
  • Age growth
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Disappointment
  • Relationship problems
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Drug use
  • Heavy drinking
  • Using tobacco products

ED can be caused by just one or more of these factors. That is why it’s important that you work with your doctor so that he can rule out or treat any of the underlying medical conditions.

Some Medicines used for other diseases may cause ED. If you are taking some medicine on regular basis talk to your doctor about your ongoing prescription and ask whether they can cause symptoms of ED. There may be alternatives. Stopping taking medication without talking to your doctor is extremely dangerous and should be avoided. Read Also Ed Treatment in Delhi Ncr

Bad communication between two

Irrational arguments can affect your sexual well-being. If your mutual relationship is getting harsh because of this, consider talking to a relationship counsellor. Relationship counselling can also help you and your partner re-communicate emotionally, which can also help your ED.

Erectile Dysfunction Treatment

Erectile dysfunction treatment does depend on these many causes. Your doctor can prescribe medication that will help you to manage the symptoms of ED. You may need to undergo a few tests  before starting medication to find the cause.

Testosterone treatment (TRT) can also be recommended if you have low testosterone levels.
